Philip C. Benton, M.D.

Doctor Benton, M.D. attended Florida State University, the University of Alabama School of Medicine and trained initially in Internal Medicine at Bowman Gray School of Medicine, North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, North Carolina. After 4 years as General Medical officer with the Navy’s Submarine Service in Holy Loch Scotland, and Physician on the Staff of the American Embassy in London, England UK, he trained in Orthopaedic and Spine surgery in a combined program at Naval Hospital Bethesda Maryland, Maryland Shock Trauma Unit and Kernans Hospital in Baltimore, The Armed Forces Institute of pathology in Washington D.C, and New England Baptist Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts.


Following Orthopaedic residency, he became a staff Orthopaedic Surgeon at Naval Hospital Pensacola, FL. He left the navy for private practice in 1986, becoming a partner Surgeon in Southern Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at the Trauma Center, Baptist Hospital Pensacola. He returned to the Navy for a period during Operation Desert Storm. He has offices in Pensacola at Baptist Hospital and Baptist Medical Park, Navarre Office, Navarre Florida, and Comprehensive Musculoskeletal Institute, Fountain Plaza, Miramar Beach Florida. He is Past President of the Escambia County Medical Society, Past chairman of the Florida Orthopaedic Society Workers Compensation committee, A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and a Diplomat of the American Board Of Orthopaedic Surgery.


Dr. Benton specializes in:
General Orthopaedic surgery, Trauma surgery, Spinal surgery, Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic surgery and Joint Replacement Surgery. His practice also includes non- surgical treatment techniques of sports, bone and joint disorders.
